Won’t that change all the graphics that get projected?

I’ll post what I find after the tests, but it looked like the camera would write a new clip after 12min, but was managing to not drop any frames. I’ll have to poke around the NXCAM forum, and see if that makes sense.

Thanks Chris. Clipwrap seems to be the tool from searching through the forums for an answer. The thing I found interesting is that the last couple of times I got footage from this client’s camera the takes showed up in L&T as a series of 12min clips- these are usually hour and a half meetings- and when dropped into the timeline from the browser after transcoding I get one long take. This time I got one long take in the L&T window. Just trying to figure out whether this is a FCP issue, or maybe the client’s camera had some setting changed. Still have the camera so I suppose I’ll do some tests. Thanks again.

I had this happen when I was using VoiceOver Tool. Call AJA support, talk to Tony, he walked me through a fix.

turn on frame controls in the inspector in Compressor, it helps with the resize. You’re never going to get ‘sweet looking HD’, because you’re making a Standard Def DVD, but turning on frame controls, and setting the other image controls to best quality will give you the best SD look you can get. It’s gonna take a good bit longer to render the mpeg though.

Leonardo google “Pros Res, A Closer Look”. Gary Adcock’s helpful paper on all things Pro Res.
HQ is way overkill for HDV

Th short answer is no. AFAK your MBP only has one FW bus. IO HD uses this.

    From the AJA FAQ:
Q: Can I use Firewire storage with my Io HD?
A: Yes you can however only if you install a PCIe Firewire card and use it for the Firewire storage.

Which you can’t do with a MBP. You could get an express card adapter for another FW bus, but then you might as well go ESATA.
    hope that helps
