Can someone help settle a discussion/argument for me? I’m doing a lot of Corp Event Video. The LD always uses tungsten for the fron and backlight of people on stage. Whenever we have a wide shot that includes the HD projectors (PT-D12000U DLP Panasonics) they are super blue, because of the color temp. The LD complains whenever we ask to color correct the tungsten to the projectors, saying that CTB makes the people on stage look like vampires; pale, deathly. How does Apple WWDC get lit? Does Steve Jobs look like the undead to the people in the room? Any help appreciated.

Won’t that change all the graphics that get projected?

The human eye adjusts to the color easier than film of video sensor

If you are placing full CTB on the tungstens, you are over-correcting. Try 1/2 CTB and see how the balance works. If the faces are still too warm in relation to the projected images, try adding another 1/4 CTB. But first try adjusting the color of the camera to the faces — the screen may look a bit bluish but that may work.

I like the ideas here if using 5600K lights in not an option. I’m betting, having done a few large corporate stage events, that Mr. Jobs is lit with 5600K lights. It is not uncommon in my experience to have the house and stage lit with daylight.
