These are not the answers I was looking for. But not unexpected. Better to spend a day getting it right, than a week of trouble shooting. Thanks for the confirmation.

thanks Dan. I did that first(should of posted that, sorry).
When I have the sound prefs open I can’t see any input, even a Q-box tone generator straight into the XLR.
I’m probably gonna try and reseat the card this afternoon.
