December 8, 2015 at 1:53 am in reply to: I want the media browser to default to in/out pointsThe Media Browser is what imports the source files from local drives into a Project.
How would it see In and Out Points in a non destructive process such as NLE?

Add a second UltraKey Effect to the clip and see if you can pick it up in that.

July 18, 2015 at 9:20 pm in reply to: “locating a title from the bin within the sequence” ?s rather than using markers because you can only see a bunch of marker points as opposed to ‘visually seeing the text to indicate what’s going on story-wise’…but I believe using markers here would help…
Create a Marker> Lengthen the Duration in the Marker Entry Panel so you can see enough for an indication . Open the Marker Panel and you can see the rest of your Marker Content

July 14, 2015 at 10:27 pm in reply to: What’s your preferred way to populate the timeline?Generally I edit from the Source Monitor with I and Os and use the shortcut keys to Insert / Overlay.
Follow that with Trim edits (all modes) in the edit sequence.
Variations depending on project but I rarely use Razor or Trim away workflows.

Track Tetris… B.S…No way thats any way to edit ..and no need to either.
You need to get used to using the correct trim tools in Trim Modes. They are powerful but also complex and conditional). Well worth studying and learning and even customising your shortcuts to suit them.
Some will ripple edits, some leave gaps, some roll the edit point.
Also one can use Insert and Overlay and Lift /Extract controls combined with correct track targetting to achieve a “ripple”.
If one is determined to move clips in the timeline after a point…use the Track Select Tool.
