[Margus Voll] “I wonder if you had the problem before and if it shows on other machines?”
The issue is present on multiple machines.

Hey Mike,
That’s what I ended up doing and it’s a sufficient workaround. It displays the image exactly as the output LUT mode does. Thanks,
Craig -
Thanks Mike.
I cycled through all the settings but the result is the same.Something interesting though…
The footage plays back ok with output LUT applied UNTIL any of the lift / gamma / gain values are changed. As soon as one value is changed, the banding appears.Again, this only happens when using the output LUT filed in the config page.
-
No. The banding occurs in the reference monitor fed by an ultra studio.

[Mikhail Puzyrev] “Seriously you shouldn’t judge image using GUI screen.”
I am not not judging by the GUI… seriously.
Running thunderbolt out to an Ultra Studio 3D.
The output LUT is required as it is the base LUT for entire series. Any primary grades being made are passed on as CDL to lab where they will use same LUT to produce dailies etc.
NOTE: There is no banding when using the LUT as display, input or on a node.

Sorry, I should clarify they workflow before you assume I’m doing things backwards.
Let me state that I would never finish in AVID.Here is the workflow…
A. First light grade on EPIC footage in DaVinci
B. Export graded dailies for offline in AVID MC
C. Export graded dailies for studio
D. Conform edit in DaVinci – but on another systemEditorial and post have asked for CDL’s of the first light grades, to keep track of the metadata and values.

Thanks Mike,
However, I was asking about the reversal. Being able to apply changes to footage in AVID based on a CDL / EDL in Resolve.

[Gabriele Turchi] “Sorry if sounds a bit ungrateful , but i am an OSX user , so unless windows will offer a gigantic new power (Aka possibility to grade in 4K using 4K output ) i am interested only on OSX”
You do sound ungrateful.
Why would you expect an application like Resolve to undergo massive changes in it’s GUI and features over 12 months? This is not the kind of software that should have any massive changes. It is a very good color finishing tool. Nothing else.Re: Windows…
I’ve enjoyed being a professional MAC user for several years, but the Mac Pro tower isn’t enough anymore.Thank goodness Resolve will run on Windows so I don’t have to continue using loud and expensive expansion chasis. I’ll also have a much better choice of nVidia cards.

My biggest request for the conform window is:
– The ability to adjust the zoom, pan and tilt of clips when doing a side by side comparison with the offline reference file.

This is a terrible way to find this out. We began delivering a job last night and found out the hard way.
