Not sure if it’s related…

I had a similar issue with ATI Radeon GUI card, 2 RedRockets, 2 Quadro 4000’s and a GTX 285. My machine would actually Kernal panic when booting up. If I took one of the Red Rockets or the 285 out, it worked like a charm. As soon as I had all the cards in there, it would kernel panic.

When using either the nVidia 285’s or 4800, the DaVinci configuration recommends that you use the nVidia GT 120 as the GUI card.

I replaced the ATI RDadeon HD 5770 with the GT 120 and the system worked with all other cards installed.

Not sure if this is the same problem, but maybe you could try putting a GT120 in there and see what happens.

AVID media typically isn’t very CPU heavy. It’s probably more of a compatibility issue with Resolve.

You are trying to link to the MXF 1:1 files?
Are you saying that DaVinci won’t read your MXF 1:1 files?

Hi Gunleik,
If you want the clip to use the RMD metadata, you have to choose “CAMERA METADATA” and not “CLIP.”

The Clip setting allows you to choose your own setting.
The Project setting allows you to add the same setting globally to all clips in the sequence.
The Camera Metadata setting will read the RMD file in your R3D folder.

And also agree re: Steve Shaw. He is one of the most helpful and knowledgable people regarding colour science.

I have some different size HD2Line Pentas arriving over the next two weeks. I’ll take a look and let you know how it turns out for us.

Keep an eye on Penta. I’ve heard some exciting news regarding how they will handle their calibration and profiling.

By the way, what probe are you using to calibrate the Penta?
