Thanks everyone for the help. I was completely unaware of the 3rd party RAM options. I will definitely be getting the dual 3GHz procs and picking up 8GB of RAM from either macsales.com or transintl.com!! Once I get a little closer to clicking the send button on this purchase (in the next couple weeks) I’ll probably be back with more specific questions about the RAM and if there’s a difference between those two sites in terms of what RAM they sell, but until then I’m excited about my now even cooler new machine!!

Hmm, would you care (be able) to elaborate as to why? Is it just a gut feeling or is something imminent? One exclamation point and I would have thought just sound advice, but two exclamation points make me think you’ve heard rumblings 🙂

So you’re saying that my NTSF-formatted drive with my mp3’s on it will be seen by the Mac? If that’s the case, it would be easiest to put them both in the new machine, copy the mp3’s over and then re-format wouldn’t it? I was afraid that the NTSF drive would not be recognized by the Mac.

Another way i’ve found to be effective (although not in Avid or Boris) is to export an image sequence of what you want to “cartoon” and then use Photoshop to alter the image to what you want. Then batch process the entire image sequence.

I believe there is an exact tutorial somewhere (maybe even here at the Cow) that explains the process. I find Photoshop will give you a ton of options for configuring what you want it to look like.
