  • Importing MPEG Into FCP .. No Sound. Any Advice?

I’m trying to get a couple of MPEG commercials into our FCP at work and it only seems to be importing video without audio. Opening the ads in Quicktime confirms there is audio. Unfortunately, i’ve tried to open in Motion and Soundtrack to try and get audio, but neither will import it either.

The creator of the ads said “audio and video muxed into a single .MPG file (MPEG 2 Compression)” and i’m sure this will at mean something to someone, but unfortunately i’m not one of them.

I’m at home at the moment and they won’t import into Premiere Pro, After Effects or Audition either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Google MPEG StreamClip

Use that to make a Quicktime with audio to import into FCP

I’ll try that at work tomorrow, but just in case i’ve created a DVD that I can just capture to be sure.
    Thanks for the info.
