Has anyone used JES Deinterlacer? Do you like it? I’m wondering if it is suitable as an alternative to the DVFilm Maker, a free alternative.
    thanks

From the website it looks like they don’t have a universal version for Mac. Is this the case or do they just need to update the FAQs?

You’d think, but they seem to know very little about this tool. I found a link on Version Tracker or something like that yesterday with 1.4.1 on it. That seems to have done the trick.

Here’s the thing, I have 11 folders, each containing 20-30 folders, each containging 10-100 images. This is the collection of images from our new catalog. I’d like to put all the images on a single DVD while keeping the existing folder structure. Currently the whole catalog is about 200gig. I’ve been going into each sub folder and runing image processor and then just deleting the TIFs and PSDs but this will take me a couple of days and I’d love to just run a batch overnight.

The effect is a breif fast blur, faded in and out in just a few frames, to coincide with a big base drum hit. Later in the movie I need the four layers to spread apart in z space (did I spell that right, is that even a word?) and then come back together as a TV screen to display the main part of the video that this is the opening sequence for. I suppose I could duplicate the layers, pre comp them, and then use the second set for the depth effect but if theres a way to isolate the lower layers that would make the stack less complicated and it seems like it would be a handy trick.
    Thanks

  • Thanks all.
The only blur is from DOF effects on my camera layer. F3.5mm and 400% blur level.
There is lots of paning and zooming through clipped out still iimage layers that are around 400px Z appart. I’ll try managing the original images a bit better to keep them from being to big.

Thank you very much for your help. I’m going to do all that stuff you just said. But you know what, I was clicking around whilst waiting for another post and unchecked ‘Frame Blend’ for the comp in question. Not sure what that means but it did the trick.

Sorry, I’m new to video. I’m not sure what you mean or how to fix it. Can you explain further or send me a link to something.

Or more specifically, what is the most lossless way of swappint back and fourth. This is the photographer in me worrying about the video version of saving a .jpg over and over. Is it the same if video, is it a copy of a copy. Ulitmately most of the videos I work on will be reduced to rubble for the web anyway but I want to be sure my workflow keeps things looking nice and tidy if possible.
    Thanks for your help everybody.
