  • So I’ve downloaded, installed and registered Flip4Mac Pro HD. Where is the export option? I can’t find this thing anywhere.

I figured it out. I was trying to edit 320000 Hz in a 48000 Hz project.

I think so. You gotta log the clips, which takes a while but saves time in the end.

You scrub through the tape and set the in and out points for each clip. You can also name it and give it a description, which works perfectly for what I’m doing. You can either use the controller in the capture window or go through the tape in your camera’s VTR and jot down the times and names on a piece of paper and then type them in to the corresponding fields. Then once you get the whole tape logged, you to to file>batch capture. Premiere will whip through the tape and grab all the footage in separate, named clips. Sometimes it will get choked up and say something about increasing pre roll, just rewind the tape a little bit and it should be fine.

    Hope that helps.

  • That’s what I thought. It’s not to bad, expense wise. I’m learning Flash a little bit and that seems to be an even more viable option.

  • I’m not sure what the final effect is that you’re looking for, but, what if you shoot her from different angles in the room. Then As she’s walking through he forrest you can just piece together the footage and it will just look like any shot of somebody walking through someplace and around corners and what not.

Do you have recommendations. I’m making training videos for internal use and other training videos to deliver online for our customers. Nothing fancy but I like things to sound nice. I use a Beachtek on the bottom of my FX1 or I can record onto disk with a Mbox or I can go mini right into the camera.

    Thanks

Well I’m glad it’s not just me. I thought maybe I was nuts.

Thanks, I’m going to look into that. I work in an office/warehouse building and there’s servers and wifi and walky talkys and stuff all over the place. I took the set home and it worked great, even in the parking lot I get much better range than in the building. I’ll have to talk to IT to see if they know what’s causing the interference.

Well, I tried the scan. I had done that before but, while in the studio, not the meeting location, I tried all four channels in all 6 banks, and, while there was a variation of about 1′, I got the same results. I’m going to take the set home tonight and see if a 30mi location change has a different effect than one of a few hundred feet.

Sorry if I sound confused, I am a little lost in video apps sometimes.

In reading the manual it seems that Premiere CS3 on a PC sorts scenes from a tape in seperate .AVI files and they’d appear seperately in the bin and also in the folder where the project assets are stored.
In Premiere CS3 on a Mac the scenes are divided in to subclips which show as sepereate clips in the bin but one master file in in the OS so in bridge there’s just one wopping .MOV.

Is there a way to make the capture behave more like the PC version.
I’d like to have a bunch of stand alone files and grab what I need for different projects. But it’s looking like I’ll have to keep one project and save-as for each new video.

I hope that’s more clear, sorry if I’m giving anybody a headache.
