I know, “But why” you ask.

The whole company is on PC except for me because I’m the “artist”. Is it possible to export a .wmv from CS3 on a Mac? I was doing it all the ime with CS2 and a PC but the option does not appear now. Is it an ‘extra’ to load douring the install or, perhaps, a hidden option since they figure everybody on a Mac will be using the H.264…mmm…H.264…
Or, is there a plugin or downloadable app that will do the trick.

    Thanks All.

Nope. This feature is unavailable on the Mac version.

you can use a 3rd party program (costs a bit) such as flip4mac and then under quicktime export select the wmv dropdown that should appear

That’s what I thought. It’s not to bad, expense wise. I’m learning Flash a little bit and that seems to be an even more viable option.

So I’ve downloaded, installed and registered Flip4Mac Pro HD. Where is the export option? I can’t find this thing anywhere.

I had to upgrade my Quicktime to Quicktime Pro. Flip4Mac is a plugin for Quicktime. Once you have Quicktime Pro you can easily export .WMV files.

I agree that Flash is the better option but Adobe should allow Mac users to export to .WMV from Premiere and other CS Suite applications.

I forgot to finish up here, sorry.

I did the same, upgraded to QT Pro. I thought there’d be an export option in Premiere and AE but it’s just in QT. I’ve been exporting Quicktime movies from Premiere and making .wmvs in QT Pro for months now and it’s been working great. Especially the speed. Quicktime is way faster at exporting it seems.

    So, anyway, happy customer here.

HI sorry to be a bit of a noob here but what are you exporting to QT and which codec? This is also a problem I have with being the only “artist” in the company and having to supply WMVs is a real pain!

    Cheers for your help,
    Simon
