This was shot in the moment. I don’t think that its possible to get the source recording. It seems that the interlacing is adding to the problem so I am going to try to reverse telecine the clip and to see if that helps when a filter is applied…

    Thanks for the great response!!!

Sorry for not being more clear. It’s a shot of a CRT surveillance monitor.

Have you tried keeping the keyframes visible in the timeline? If you hit opt-t it will toggle the timeline keyframes and you can adjust them right under your clip. the only other NLE that I know that has this option is Smoke…

It sounds to me that your clip is referencing files on your disk. You should be exporting a “Self-Contained” movie. When you export, if you want the same format that your sequence or clip is in, you go FILE / EXPORT / QuickTime Movie… Then make sure that the check box for “Make Movie Self-Contained” is checked. This will create a completely independent clip that will not reference any other video.

    Hope this helps…

In order to hear your audio in sync, you have to route your audio from your source. I you are using Built in audio and monitoring externally, that is why you are having the delay.

Do you have a way to route your speakers from your external monitor?

My prediction is that they are going to have some connection with Red Digital Cinema and AJA. Red is producing a camera capable of ALL flavors of video from 4K to DV rez. I have read that FCP 6 is going to be able to handle this in some way or another. Possibly with the help of a new AJA box…

    Also,

Where are you monitoring your audio from?

    Try:

    -VIEW>AUDIO PLAYBACK

It should match what you are using to output to your monitor. Usually “FireWire DV”. Or try “Audio Follows Video”.

    If that doesn’t work try:

    -SYSTEM SETTINGS>PLAYBACK CONTROL

There is a “Frame Offset” box, by default it is set to 4 frames because of the latency in FireWire devices.
