I experience a 15 frame or so delay in audio synch when previewing to an external monitor.

Does anyone know how to fix this? It only happens when using the external monitor, not when I run the timeline without the preview.

    Thanks

    Try:

    -VIEW>AUDIO PLAYBACK

It should match what you are using to output to your monitor. Usually “FireWire DV”. Or try “Audio Follows Video”.

    If that doesn’t work try:

    -SYSTEM SETTINGS>PLAYBACK CONTROL

There is a “Frame Offset” box, by default it is set to 4 frames because of the latency in FireWire devices.

    Also,

Where are you monitoring your audio from?

I am using Built in Audio to hear the audio from my pro speakers that are hooked into my g5

In order to hear your audio in sync, you have to route your audio from your source. I you are using Built in audio and monitoring externally, that is why you are having the delay.

Do you have a way to route your speakers from your external monitor?
