Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Export Issue

Before, when I export through FCP, using EXPORT to QUICKTIME Movie, I would only have one file that contained my video and audio together as a “mov.” Now, for some odd reason, it will create my “mov” file but with a separate track linked to it that is labled – “av-1” and somtimes “av-2.” And if I delete the “av-1” the video will not work. But, here’s the interesting thing…I never changed my EXPORT settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m confused.

Also look at the drive that you are saving it to, this happened to me once and it was a certain hard drive for some reason….maybe a formatting issue? The more likely issue is your export settings though

It sounds to me that your clip is referencing files on your disk. You should be exporting a “Self-Contained” movie. When you export, if you want the same format that your sequence or clip is in, you go FILE / EXPORT / QuickTime Movie… Then make sure that the check box for “Make Movie Self-Contained” is checked. This will create a completely independent clip that will not reference any other video.

    Hope this helps…

Check the disk that you are exporting you files onto. I’m going to venture a guess that it might possibly be formatted in the FAT 32 format and your files are exceding the limit for the file size. You movie is being broken up into several parts to stay within the file size limitations of this format. Reformat it if possible in Mac OS extended and I’m guessing your problem will go away.
