Thanks for the info. I’ve passed it on to the editor.
I’ll see what I can find online, but can you point me to a tutorial or documentation that covers this in depth?

    Best,

    Hey Andreas,

thanks for your reply, good to hear from you.

    I have two files of the subtitles;

    1) an .stl which, upon import in PrPro gives, me an error message saying that the file can’t be imported because of an header error.

    2) a .txt file which I can’t open in TextEdit but I can open in Safari. It contains all the dialogue as well as TC INs and OUTs. One could use this if one actually wanted to sit down and copy/paste all of the text (for approx 40 Minutes of dialogue) into a new timeline, manually enter the timecodes and then export that with an Alpha for import into DaVinci for the OnLine Masterfile. Ouch.

I’ll give it a try in Belle Nuit and let you know. (Or, I could tell the client to wait a year and complain to you ????

    Cheers,
    Clay

    Hi Kevin,

thanks for the reply and link. Yeah, I read that one. I was hoping there had been some progress…

In the meantime, I think I’ll just stick with my DaVinci solution. From there, I can create a timeline that imports into Premiere easily.

Hope this one gets fixed soon though, it is a mission critical bug.

    Cheers,
    Clay

  • Never heard of that option, to nail one edge. I can’t really imagine though why you would need that?

There’s an excellent stabilizer in DaVinci by the way. If all you need is HD, it can be done in the lite version for free.

    Cheers,

February 21, 2013 at 3:30 pm in reply to: New Mac Pro at NAB ?

It’s pretty much useless to try and figure which way they’ll jump next. All we know for the moment is that Mac Pros are no longer available in Europe. That would lead one to believe that Apple will have to at least issue a statement soon, but again, no point in speculating.

Seen the new GeForce Titan with 6GB of video ram? NVIDIA is calling the shots at the high end now. Not Apple. Unless the new MacPro is a real screamer, I would bet that PC’s will become the weapon of choice for all the heavy pixel-crunching tasks and apps by the end of this year.
