Hi,
Did you export out the graded session as an AAF from Resolve in the Conform Page to import into MC6 ?
In the storage where your Avid media is located, make sure in the Avid Mediafiles folder you create a number folder. This number folder is where you render into from Resolve. Avid only looks into these numbered folders for the MXF mediafiles to create the database.
I just recently did a roundtrip with Avid Media Composer 6 and Resolve 8.2 and it worked very smoothly.

Resolve 8.2 now supports the C300 natively so you should upgrade and give it a try.

I would suggest that you use the Quadro4000 for GUI and the Quadro FX4800 for GPU processing as it has better performance than the Quadro4000.

Probably best to just test with one GTX580 first. I And I don’t think the motherboard has 4 x PCIe x16 slots to accommodate the four GTX580 cards. You may need to get a Cubix Desktop 4 instead.

Hi Tom,
The noise reduction feature in Resolve only works with NVIDIA graphics GPU and unfortunately your iMac is using ATI graphics so it won’t work.

You need to add an outside node to this node that you have your power window. The outside node basically takes the power window from the node before and invert it so anything you apply, ie. color adjustment, blur (defocus), sharpness…etc will affect outside the power window.

Perhaps the issue here is that your Mac Pro just don’t have enough juice to let you work at premium res debayer setting ? I have a 8core 2.93Ghz Mac Pro and it will only do half res good in real time. Once I set to half res premium it will struggle, and give up if set to full res premium. RED decoding is super-CPU intensive. I have a REDRocket card so that allows me to work in premium res debayer setting.

I would try :
1) Remove the Decklink card from the Cubix Desktop 4 and see if you can get half res premium playback.
2) Remove the ProTools card in the Mac Pro and move the Decklink card to slot 3 in the Mac Pro and see if you can get half res premium playback.
3) Or as you’ve suggested, swap the ProTools and Decklink card between the Mac Pro and Cubix and see if it makes any difference.
Usually during troubleshooting we remove elements that are foreign in the known working configuration so at least we know it works according to the config guide.
Your driver and firmware all looks good so it’s probably the hardware side of things.
