I’d suggest doing one song. Since your new at it.

Also, I would suggest shooting that song in another setting in addition to the studio session. Like a live stage setting. Fake concert.
That way you have more shots…

You should seek out the Tapeless Work flow tutorial here on the cow.

First off-load the cards onto your comp. Back it up to at least 2 different drives if not 3. Doesn’t matter where or which drives.

When you L&T into FCP, your scratch drive should not be the OS drive.

Check your 1080 plasma TV settings, it may have the view on zoom and you can change that.

I tend to put it on the media drives, faster performance, etc…

The menu displays on both.
It’s a switch option to turn off or on the OSD on the SDI out.

That is the main point. To select only a portion of the entire sequence for rendering or exporting. Rendering being the biggest I would think.

If it’s part of a larger clip, then yes, cut it on each end and then send.
