Depending on how much footage there was in ea. frame rate…

I might try this:

Take a 29.97 clip and drop it on the “make new sequence and match icon”.
Do you have that in CS5? If not make a DV NTSC 29.97 seq.

Then add some 24p & 30p clips.
Compress a portion that has all 3 clip formats out to the final format you are using, ie: DVD. Take a look at it, it might be fine that way.

Try to use clips with motion in them for the tests.

Your HD should be fine in the SD sequence – don’t judge the quality on the computer screen.

Also, the DV-NTSC codec is horrible and looks like heck.

Amount of footage in each size can matter just as well as the Final D.

You can also, use the smaller stuff in the HD sequence and not display full screen.

You can also choose the presets when encoding for the target intended.

IOW

Export using the mpeg2 DVD preset for DVD,s

Export using the Vimeo preset for Online HD.

1080i/60i is 60 interlaced fields, same as 30 (29.97) frames/second.

Thanks, ended up going back the the numbers effect.
Time Code.
Then sub comp.
Then mask out the hours and the frames.
Leaving just minutes and seconds like we needed.
Right justify’d.
