I have 24P & 30P footage on the same mini DV tape (it kept reverting back during the day and I didn’t realize it)using a Panasonic DVX100B. I also have footage another person shot at 29.97. I’ve read about interlacing and fps until my eyes bleed so….
    1. Does it matter what my projects settings are in PRO (24 or 30?)when I CAPTURE the footage? If so, what settings would you use?
    2. When I interpret the footage in After Effects I get everything from 23.97 3:2 removal 24P Advance (which I didn’t mean to do) with several variations of WWSSW along with the 29.97. If I use the reduce interlace in AE on the 29.97, do I need to change settings in the field/pulldown and what do I export it as?

I have so many questions, I will stop here. I know this is a question asked often but I have heard that the Panasonic works somewhat differently.
    Appreciate your help!

Depending on how much footage there was in ea. frame rate…

    I might try this:

Take a 29.97 clip and drop it on the “make new sequence and match icon”.
Do you have that in CS5? If not make a DV NTSC 29.97 seq.

    Then add some 24p & 30p clips.
Compress a portion that has all 3 clip formats out to the final format you are using, ie: DVD. Take a look at it, it might be fine that way.

Try to use clips with motion in them for the tests.
