You sequence settings and your audio settings do not match. Your audio needs to be rendered first.

Best to convert all your audio to 48K b/4 import.

You didn’t mention what format your original footage is??

Capture and edit in the highest quality u can. Do not use H.264.

Export from your timeline using “Current Settings”
Make a ref file. Saves HD space.
Drop this ref file into compressor.
Create the A/V DVD files.
Import them into iDVD.
Make DVD.

You can transcode the 7D footage to any codec you have on the system.

Use DVCPRO HD – it will still look Great!

Now, make sure your timeline matches the footage.
Start a New project, use easy setup.
Import newly transcoded footage – will NOT need to be rendered to play in sequence.

Yes, of course you can.

Prep your stills b/4 importing.
Use RGB, 72 dpi, about 2000pixels on the long side if you want to create moves on them. Make them PNG or tif but can also use jpeg, psd.

Capture in HD
Edit in HD
Export “Current Settings” making a ref file.
Drop the ref file into Compressor choose NTSC DVD SD 16X9

You can plug in a External FW drive to the Comp.
Plug the camera via FW into the Ext. HD to capture.
FW drives are fastest enough for DV editing.
FW are great for backing up your media too.

You want letterbox on a SD DVD.

If Not?

Output Sequence current settings ref file.
Drop into compressor.
Choose a 4X3 option in the settings. This makes a 4X3 mpeg not a widescreen.
Then bring into DVDSP.
