Plug FW drive into Laptop.

What loops are you referring to?
Did they state “Loopable” ?
If they are truly Loopable then you just put them back to back and they play. If not, then you can dissolve between them. May be lower the overall opacity and blur them to make them less noticeable.Chris Tompkins

I always enter the frame rate of the footage to be converted.

Output from your timeline “current settings” making a ref file.
Bring that into compressor.
Choose DVD, alter data rate for best quality.
Leave Fields to upper.

H.264 is NOT an editing codec. Don’t convert to that for editing.
ProRres is a great way to go.I would take your original mov files on a T2i, 1080p @ 30fps & .mts on a Canon HF S100 and run them thru compressor and convert all to one format. Whether that’s HD or SD is up to you. If file size is an issue I would convert all to DV50 SD animorphic.
OR
Edit native w/ mov files from the T2i, 1080p @ 30fps and convert the mts to mov files 1080p @ 30fps
OR
But don’t convert to H.264 and then to something else that’s twice the compression.

First off – trash FCP prefs.
Try again.Make sure you do not have corrupt material in ur timeline.
Are you Fully rendered?
Do you have enough hard drive space?
Export a ref clip from ur sequence.
Drop that onto QT player – does it play fine there? If so,
