Turn Frame control on and best.
Tweak data rate to your program length.

Yes, you can hook up the FireStore to the 170.

Get the $350. P2 adaptor and plug it into a MacBook Pro and off load cards on site – tell em You NEED power.

no, your right, the audio levels could be more definitive for sure.
I aim for around that second bar, some above is good. It does indicate peak (too much) when you hit it.

I might glue a little bump on those pesky little dials…

Ya, thin lines, small detail can be a prob. But, u need to view on Ext. monitor to know for sure.

Can u try a slight blur? Decrease opacity?

Roll an extra 5 seconds of footage @ the head and tail of every shot to avoid running out of control track When you play/review/stop and record again.
