Is the BM card contoling the deck?
In the deck menu what is your input set to?

Are you connected via component?
If only FW, then that is how you print to tape – thru the FW.

And as for your export:

What is the theater using for playback?

Export your finished video using “Current Settings”
Drop that file into compressor to make your deliverable.

Everyday people are told here: H.264 IS NOT AN EDITING CODEC

This comes up multiple times day. You’d think everyone in the know universe would know this fact by now, but yet, still, it comes up.

There should really be a sticky on the top of this forum.

Or what best fits your footage.

Your sequence should be the DVPAL preset for one thing. Let FCP do this for you.

When you export, Export using “Current Settings” this uses what you have in the sequence for all settings.

Take the exported file into your fav compression software and create your deliverable.

FCP is know for losing connection w/ media, so your problem is unique.

FW connection to a raid should be solid.

Sometimes finicky connected drives can lose connection to the comp and FCP gets wonky.

1. Is your sequence settings DVCPro HD 1080i50?
2. Model of the deck you are trying to print to?
3. What mode is the deck in now? 1080? 720?
3. Machine control? How?
4. How are you trying to print to tape currently?

View all clips in the browser. You’ll see the “Reel” names…
