FCP 7 to DVCPro tape issues
Hi guys,
We’re trying to play out from FCP to DVCPro HD 1080i50 to create our master tapes.We can’t seem to get it to happen.
If you can explain how you have/ have your deck set up (if you have one) and the FCP settings, I’ll work through them and see what we’re doing wrong.

1. Is your sequence settings DVCPro HD 1080i50?
2. Model of the deck you are trying to print to?
3. What mode is the deck in now? 1080? 720?
3. Machine control? How?

2. Model of the deck you are trying to print to? – PANASONIC AJHD1200A
3. What mode is the deck in now? 1080? 720? – 1080
3. Machine control? How? – REMOTE VIA BLACKMAGIC
4. How are you trying to print to tape currently? – WE WERE GOING THROUGH A BLACKMAGIC CARD BUT NOW TRYING IT THROUGH FIREWIRE. -
Is the BM card contoling the deck?
In the deck menu what is your input set to?Are you connected via component?
If only FW, then that is how you print to tape – thru the FW.Chris Tompkins

We were initially connected via component, we had picture coming through but when we went edit to tape the edit to tape tool would be unresponsive.
We managed to get the film to tape via firewire and going PRINT TO TAPE but it’s not timecode correct.
The blackmagic card is/ should be controlling the deck, yes.
The deck has gone back upstairs for another project now so not sure what the input setting is.

The 1200 is not a real editing deck. You cannot edit to tape using the Decklink card. You can get it to work with firewirer, but there are accuracy issues,mas you have seen
You need the 1400A.
