Media Offline after reboot ‘eddia start and end’ different on reconect
I used Log and Transfer to convert AVCHD footage to ProRes. I shutdown Mac and when I restarted and went into the project around 10 percent were offline. I did manage to reconnect but had to use reel and and clip name only and got a ‘Media start and end’ attribute warning.
Anyone know what is going on?

What drive(s) are your media(s) on?

Its a RAID 10 array of 2 2GB Samsung Spinpoint Drives. Its actually a NTFS file system with Paragon NTFS. I did spend some time on apple technical forums and people seemed to think that alough the free NTFS was to be avoided the paid for versions were OK.

Is this internal SATA drives?

Its SATA drive in a RAID 10 enclosure connected to Mac via Fi rewire 800.

FCP is know for losing connection w/ media, so your problem is unique.
FW connection to a raid should be solid.
Sometimes finicky connected drives can lose connection to the comp and FCP gets wonky.

I know stuff going off-line is common but having to tell FCP to ignore attributes is something that I thought is a lot less common. So you don’t think it is a NTFS thing?
This tie I managed to reconnect but previously I totally lost some footage.

We format all drives Mac OS Extended

NTFS has always been a windows HardDrive format, why are the drives your are using for editing on a mac formatted that way?

Long story but when things are reorganised the will be Mac formatted. Was using Vegas and FCP7 but when FCPx comes along will probably transfer totally.
