Try dropping a 720 clip in the sequence w/ the 1080 and full render.
You may find it looks good.

Having a VTR or I/O card to do the conversion would be the first choice.
Software conversion the last.

But we have combined the two formats on several edits w/o issue.

You can edit just fine with that.
Will it be blazing fast? Probably not.
Could double the ram…

Otherwise – go for it.

Count and weigh you luggage for fees.

Just assuming 60p Choose which ever Frame-rate you are cutting.

Then import the rendered file into edit. Should look Much better.

I assume you don’t have hardware for the conversion?
An I/O Card like the Kona 3?

It’ll look decent with Compressor, Select the conversion to 720p
Turn frame controls on to best.

59.95 1080i refers to fields, it’s 60 fields a sec. It’s really 29.97 Frames Per Second.
