I have a possible job in Milan next month, the job is 2 days filming a conference and at the end of each day, ingest and compile an edit of the day.

I’m going to be shooting 720 PN on the Panasonic HVX and downloading from my FS-100.

I was going to hire out a laptop with FCP installed, but to save money I might install my FCP onto my girlfriend’s laptop and use that; but I’m not sure if the spec’s OK.

    The spec is OS 10.5.8

    Intel 2.4Ghz core 2 duo
    2Gb RAM

I’ll add a Western Digital 1TB external drive to that set up.

Any views and comments greatly appreciated, many thanks.

    Hi Roli,
    Macs are the same everywhere.
    Only the keyboard may differs.

You can edit just fine with that.
Will it be blazing fast? Probably not.
    Could double the ram…

    Otherwise – go for it.

Count and weigh you luggage for fees.
