Got a request to convert 23.98 (1080p) footage to 59.95 (1080i) and can’t seem to figure this one out. I’d understand telecine-ing it to 29.97 if it was 59.94, but 59.95 seems slightly tricky.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks for the help

1080i59.94 is 29.97fps. Don’t let the number confuse you…I think they do that on purpose. When you see “i” it means INTERLACED, and 2 fields per frame, 59.94 is FIELDS per second…30fps…at 29.97. So you will be converting 23.98 to 29.97.

There is no such thing as 59.95…that was most likely a typo.

    59.95 1080i refers to fields, it’s 60 fields a sec. It’s really 29.97 Frames Per Second.

to the OP: 59.95 is a typo. There is no 59.95. Only 59.94. Proceed as you were…
