I can’t believe how much these cost. Does anyone know where I can get the 8-pin connector so I can make my own cables or where I can get them for a reasonable price? I need cables and converters for both Fujinon and Canon. Thanks!

8 Pin is the standard for Canon and Fujinon. 12 pin is Fuji. Varizoom and Manfrotto have the most reasonable zoom controllers.

Manfrotto has a zoom controller that will work with both Canon and Fujinon.

If you really want to try and make your own cable, go to Markertek.

Lens Controllers can be pricey. I second Varizoom – good products.

Did you have any success making a cable? Do you know what the pinouts are on the Fujinon 8-pin lens connector? I am trying to make a converter cable to go from my 12-pin Fujinon zoom controller to my 8-pin Fujinon lens. Paying $199 for a 6″ adapter cable is obscene.

I have a zoom controller already. I just want to make an adapter cable to use it on an 8-pin lens.
