For what it’s worth, I’ve been running Resolve 11 on Windows 8.1 for many months and prefer it over windows 7.

Hi,
I have a J3; I can look around monday for the manual. HOWEVER, since the J3 is a standard-definition deck, I can tell you that the output would but LOWER field first. HD is upper field first.

Hi Eric,
Something changed along the way with either Sony or Resolve in terms of the way they handle frame rates for slo-mo. It’s easy to do what you want though, I do it all the time.
In the media page, select all the clips you want to play back at 23.976. Right click and choose “clip attributes”. There’s a drop-down for video frame rate. Just change it to 23.976 (make sure the check-box is checked next to the frame rate). Hit “ok” and you’re good to go. Drop all those clips in a 23.976 timeline and render out your dailies. As long as you edit from your converted dailies and conform back to your adjusted clips everything will work great.

February 24, 2015 at 9:44 pm in reply to: Sharing Resolve projects between Windows and MacPeter,
Can you clarify what you mean here by defining the other OS path? Also, are there plans yet to include volume names along with drive letters in the Windows version?
Thanks

December 16, 2014 at 2:17 pm in reply to: coolest looking Resolve video playback glitch contestIt’s a custom build machine from Mediaworkstations.net. They specialize in machines for our industry. It’s this model:
https://www.mediaworkstations.net/desktops/i-x2.htmlYou should have a conversation with Christopher Johnson there if you are considering a change. He’s great to deal with and is very patient with us former Mac guys.
Mine is dual 10-core Xeon, 128GB RAM with three Titans. I’d be happy to post Cinebench and Resolve standard candle test scores if you’d like. In short though, it’s a monster.

December 15, 2014 at 6:41 pm in reply to: coolest looking Resolve video playback glitch contest[Paul Provost] “I was this close to as well a couple days ago but got talked off the ledge”
It’s really not bad. I was a total hardcore Mac guy (for probably 15 years) with the typical hatred of a Windows OS that I’d actually not used in a long time. The OS is different and you do have to be patient to adapt to it, but the hardware options are just too great to ignore.
I’ve got a 40-core Xeon machine with THREE Titans INSIDE, plus Decklink and 10Gb ethernet card. The machine is far more powerful and more expandable than any Mac Pro and cost the same as the top end MP tube.
