First try the simple: Create a new material. In the color channel, apply the starfield texture. Turn off the other channels. Then drop this material onto a sky object. It looks pretty good.

Turnkey to me just means that you are paying a hell of a premium just for somebody to have selected and assembled the parts. I buit a custom gaming machine damn near identicle to an Alienbrain system and it cost about $2000 less. For now, your vid card is not very important to AE much at all since it’s OpenGL implementation is so weak. However, I have a sneaking suspition that there will be a lot more GPU involvement in newer versions of AE. So I would still get a great vid card.
I don’t know the answer to your questions about 2procs vs. one w/ different Mghz and Ram, but there has got to be a lot of benchmarks out there to examine. But overall, if you build your PC, you can grab the fastest of almost everything and still come away with a machine that is as fast, but costs half the price of a G5 (although I use AE on a G5).
but I have tested AE on my PC and it sings.
6 months ago, I went to newegg.com ordered the fastest of everything (at the time based on a single AMD 64FX 55 chip) with lots o’ ram in a simple ugly case for only $2800. My G5 with around the same specs was $5000. Ouch.

Having a hard time seeing what you speak of. Is it the Speed Vapor spot or the Ignite spot? The speed vapor spot had a section where it looks like the shoe is streaking in 3D space. Frame by frame shows that it is the outline of the shoe extruded, duplicated and then the duplicates are animated along a straight vector with motion blur on. Any 3D app will do this easily.
If you mean the old streaky smear effect like the web page itself is simulating, you can get Pete’s Plug-ins. One of the plugs will do this:

Yeah, you may need something on the lines of a moving matte somewhere between straight up roto and a garbage matte.
I imagine 2 mattes. One just inside the edges of the person. One just outside the edges. So that your luma key is just working on the edge area.
For future ref, if you know you have to key off of white, make the person’s keylight lower than what the BG is lit with. So that the BG is about a stop brighter than the person. That way you have a chance of keyeing as clean as a luma can w/out affecting the person. But even good lumas are never as good as a color key.

Does it go everywhere on the desktop? Meaning does it act normal, then get strange when using C4D? I assume you have switched between ‘mouse’ mode and ‘pen’ mode on the tablet and adjusted the tablet mouse speed settings?

Spacial should be in the viewpost where you manipulate the spline. Temporal should be the velocity in the fcurve window of the timeline.
For example if you use a ‘align to spline’ tag and animate the position. This animation becomes the temporal and the spline itself is the spatial.

The system you are using. What are all the formats it can write to?

Apparently Maxon sells ver. 6 of C4D for a $100. Called C4D CE (I think?). Sounds like the best deal around for your needs.
