Any tips on how to achieve a “surveillance camera” look?
My miniDV footage looks too good – I need this footage to look like low-quality video that comes from a surveillance camera. Have you ever looked up close at a bad video monitor? It has black spaces between the pixels, and I would also like that effect of a tv on a tv when the redraw rates are not in sync – you know, the descending line that keeps going down the screen, over and over? So, how would you recommend I get this look?

I have achieved a simillar effect with a plugin known as Tinderbox1 or 3.I cant quite remember which one it was but it has a section known as BadTv that has all related looks as presets.

If all plug-ins fail to give you the look you want – get a real security camera monitor, playback your footage to it and reshoot …
