    Shane,

How do I get the clips to come in as ProRes? I went into prefs and clicked on it, but it’s still capturing to DVCproHD.

    Have a wonderful day.

    Shane,

Great tutorial, I feel much better now! It seems I must know how the stuff was shot regarding pulldown etc. no? Fortunately, they gave me a notebook with script notes, so I’m sure all that’s in there.

    Thanks again!

    Have a wonderful day.

    Sean,

Give Compressor a shot. Use the advanced format conversions, you can customize every setting.

    Have a wonderful day.

    Austin,

Your playback standard in the A1 when in VCR mode must be in HDV, it defaults to auto. Set this BEFORE you plug in the FireWire.

    Have a wonderful day.

  • Got it, thanks.

    Have a wonderful day.

Go to Window>arrange and click on Standard. Or trash your prefs, either should get it back.

    Have a wonderful day.

    Hey all,

I’ve had 3 LaCie and 1 Maxtor drive die on me. I lost many hours of labor and captured media. To recover those drives would have cost thousands. Do you think for a second, even during a valid warranty period either of those companies would have compensated me for my losses? If you do, I have a bridge you can buy.

Sorry folks, I have to agree with DRW on this one. Beyond his valid reasoning about the 5 year vs. 1 year warranties, his idea makes sense.

    Have a wonderful day.

  • Lee,

I remember this feature from my Premiere days, items used more than once showed up in the browser with a number behind them, showing how many instances of it there were in the project. So in FCP how does this feature show up? ie. do the clips get flagged somehow?

    Have a wonderful day.
