  • Finding repeated / duplicate clips on Timeline – I’ve forgotten how!

Posted by Martin Phillips on November 13, 2008 at 12:32 pm

Can anyone remind me how – can’t seem to find posts related to this. I know it’s easy but can’t think how to do it. So can someone help?

    Thanks – Martin.

Go to timeline layout popup (bottom left of the sequence window, little right facing triangle between the timeline height and timeline scale). Click on it an select Show Duplicate Frames.

    Lee,

I remember this feature from my Premiere days, items used more than once showed up in the browser with a number behind them, showing how many instances of it there were in the project. So in FCP how does this feature show up? ie. do the clips get flagged somehow?

    Have a wonderful day.

    Chris,
It shows up in the Timeline as a red bar on the video and blue on the audio. To my knowledge there is no indication in the bins.
In a clip only the repeated frames have the red bar.
