    Coach,

Don’t trust the viewer, watch on a monitor.

    Coach,

Green means it’s rendered and should be okay. Does it play out to your monitor? Don’t think you did anything wrong.

    Coach,

We dump prefs all the time. You will have to restore your user settings and scratch discs and window layouts, but a better way to go is get FCP Rescue which is free.

    Todd,

Not true, a DVD made from an uncompressed file will have superior graphics to one made from a DV file. I do this all the time and have done extensive test on it. Alan is correct.

  • Peter,

What is the resolution and size of the images? In many instances, FCP will flicker large images when moved. I have minimized flickering many times by reducing the image size. As a rule, I make all my stills 72 dpi no larger than 20″ wide. Sounds weird, but it makes a difference.

    Godfrey,

I got the Behringer surface and it works fine alongside my Mackie 1202. It’s not redundant at all. But the Tascam is a nice unit. Good info.

    Hey Chris,

Apparently it’s happening to everyone. I did a 15 minute show last week that took 50 minutes, and encoded the same movie in Compression Master in 17 minutes.

    Scot,

You could also look into Popwire’s WMV component or Flip4Mac which are much cheaper than the other programs I mentioned.

    Say,

I’m just curious, what do you need a muxed mpeg for, playing from a server?
