The codec of the rejected movie was DV NTSC, but I have had 8bit FCP movies rejected also. Have not tried a reference movie, good idea, also will look into new versions, thanks.

Walter is correct, but a pretty good noise reducer is in Joe’s Filters, and a very good one in Boris Continuum Complete, but the latter is very slow to render and quite expensive.

I have the KRK Rokit 5’s and they are amazing. I also have a set of KRK V4’s on my other machine and they are even better. A bit more expensive, but still less than $450, fantastic.

It’s funny, in my mid 50’s and working on a video for the AZ Alzheimer’s Consortium this week, client asked me today how long I’ve been working on FCP and I couldn’t remember if it was 5 or 6 years!

Reins,

The “average Joe” cannot tell the difference. It is so minimal, I can hardly tell. As pointed out, the advantage to 10 bit relate to color correcting and keying, but I am of the opinion that it’s really spliting hairs. As far as render times I don’t think it would make much difference.
