    Hi Simon,

The output format will depend on the software, and in some instances the media you are playing.

In After Effects you can change the format you’re outputting by going to Preferences->Video Preview, where you should have a dropdown box with all the supported video output formats for the Intensity Pro.

In Premiere Pro it’s a little different. The output format is dependent on the sequence setting. So when you create a new sequence, you will want to choose a sequence in the video format you want to work with, and the Intensity Pro’s output will follow this. However if you use material that does not match the timeline format, Premiere will need to render the material into the timeline’s format.

If you were to use our Media Express application on the other hand, the output format will always be determined by the source material. If the video file is PAL it will output as PAL.

    Hi,

Just an update on this. At IBC we announced that the Intensity Shuttle and Intensity Extreme have been certified for ThunderBolt on Windows, and I expect more will be certified soon. You can read the press release here.

    Hi Thomas,

It is a good idea to check precisely what format the phone is outputting over HDMI, and make sure the capture settings match this. If they don’t match, you won’t be able to capture.

However, quite often we see problems with HDCP protection on HDMI outputs of devices like these. Some devices have it, some don’t. I would suggest checking with the manufacturer whether the output is HDCP protected. If it does use HDCP, I’m afraid it won’t be possible to capture.

    Hi Jaap,

I haven’t come across any problems like this with Final Cut Pro before. I would suggest trying with different footage and settings and see if the problem remains. If it does, it would be worth checking if reverting to older drivers makes any difference.

If you’re then still seeing the same problems please contact support since they will be better able to to try and reproduce the issue and suggest what could be causing the problem. You can contact support using the numbers on the page here, or using the support request form on the product’s support page.

August 30, 2012 at 7:55 am in reply to: Blackmagic HDlink – RAM

    Hi Pieter,

I think it’s unlikely to be a problem with the RAM. Is this an HDLink connected between the Eizo monitor and a DeckLink card?

The description of it as negative makes me think it could be a dual-link SDI problem. Maybe if you were using dual-link SDI it might be only displaying one channel. In which case, please check both SDI cables.

If you are not using dual-link, maybe the output from your Mac is set to dual link. If you have a DeckLink card for example you can disable dual-link in the Blackmagic section of System Preferences. If using FCP7 Please check the settings under View->Video Playback. If it’s set to an RGB codec, try changing it to YUV.

If using an HDLink will also have Lookup Tables which you can apply to it’s outputs to change it’s look. I would suggest connecting the HDLink to a computer by USB, and launch the HDLink Utility, and press the ‘reset unity’ button. This should clear any possible bad colour settings.

If you still have problems I would suggest contacting support to troubleshoot the issue further.

August 23, 2012 at 12:41 am in reply to: I’m So Frustrated with My Shuttle 2

    Hi Kyle,

I’m afraid the HyperDeck Shuttle doesn’t have a function to play back in slow motion. It’s quite a simple device, with controls for play, stop, skip forward and back, and record. The USB connection is only used for changing certain settings such as the codec.

When you’re inputting video, that input signal will loop-through to both the HDMI and SDI output for monitoring.

You can download the manual from the support page here for more information on the device’s functions.

August 22, 2012 at 3:10 am in reply to: Hyperdeck Shuttle Green HDMI In

    Hi Tho,

I’ve been looking into your problem with the audio channels. I have tried with Media Composer to see if I can export a file that the HyperDeck Shuttle will play back with audio, and so far I’m afraid I have not found a satisfactory setting.

I think that the HyperDeck wants to playback only files that match the settings it uses to record, but I am not able to find an export setting in Media Composer that matches this. It may otherwise be possible in other applications but I can’t think of anything that might do the job at the moment.

I will put in a feature request for extra audio support, I think there are others who want to use the Hyperdecks simply as media players.

The HyperDecks are actually a little unusual in that they don’t perform the RGB to YUV conversion. To my knowledge all of our HDMI capture cards, converters and switchers will perform the conversion. I expect SDI will probably work better since it’s not as finicky as HDMI. Please let us know how this goes.

The only thing I can think of with the recording format is that if the HyperDeck is being fed standard definition signals, it will record in uncompressed. DNxHD will of course only work with HD signals.

August 21, 2012 at 1:06 am in reply to: Hyperdeck Shuttle Green HDMI In

    Hi Ryan,

The green image you see is most likely caused by an RGB colourspace on the IOHD’s HDMI output. This is the only reason I have seen this green colouration occur before. The HyperDeck Shuttle only records in a YUV colourspace, and I’m not sure it has any way it could convert RGB to YUV. I know the development team have been made aware of the issue, but I can’t say if it’s a behaviour that can be changed. I’m afraid I don’t know AJA equipment very well, but maybe there’s a way to change the colourspace on the IOHD?

I’m not sure why the format isn’t changing for you though. This seems quite strange. Please do make sure that you are using the latest HyperDeck software (v3.0.2). If you still have problems, I would suggest trying it from a different computer system and see if that makes a difference. If not, please try downgrading the firmware by using an earlier HyperDeck software version (v2.0 for example), and then upgrading again to 3.0.2. You can use the ‘Archived drivers’ link next to the current download to find an older version. If the problem still remains after this I would suggest contacting your regional support team using the numbers here.

August 21, 2012 at 12:51 am in reply to: 9.6.1 Driver for Multibridge Extreme and CS6

    Hi Gene,

It looks like the ‘Include legacy’ checkbox isn’t working for the Multibridge line on the support pages. I’ll report this. You can download the current 9.6.1 driver from the Multibridge Pro support page.

Whilst I don’t think it has been tested, I would still expect the Multibridge Extreme to work OK with newer drivers, assuming the system meets the driver requirements. However if you do run into problems I would suggest making a note of the driver version you have currently installed, and if need be you can re-download this version from the ‘archived drivers’ link which is next to the current driver download.
