December 22, 2010 at 12:26 pm in reply to: Black Screen on HDMI Input after installing second card.

    Hi Fraser,

I would suggest making sure that your HDMI source is not protected with HDCP content protection. This is a very common reason for HDMI to not work. If this is not the case, please do contact the support team in your region using the support form on the following page.

If you can include further details of your workflow, this will help us find where the problem lies.

January 12, 2009 at 3:17 pm in reply to: No Audio

    Hi Jeffrey,

In the Decklink Control Panel, the ‘Y, R-Y, B-Y and Analog XLR’ is the option you require for component and analog audio, whether you are using the BNC or RCA breakout cables. This is because the pins on both breakout cable connectors are essentially the same. Both cables are provided so that you can connect to virtually anything you might need to.

November 11, 2008 at 5:24 pm in reply to: sd to hd upconversion clarification please ?

    Hi Bob,

Both the HD Extreme and Multibridge have the same down and upconvert options. So on output, you can upconvert from 720p to 1080i, but not SD to HD. On Input however you can upconvert SD to 1080i, but not 720p.

November 11, 2008 at 10:47 am in reply to: HD Link vs SDI-HDMI converter

    Hi Steve,

The HDLink and the SDI-HDMI Mini-Converter are slightly different beasts. You are correct in saying that the HDLink converts the colourspace for use with DVI. Another problem you might run into is that the standard HDLink does not output standard definition over HDMI, whereas the HDLink Pro does. If you wanted to go for the HDLink, then the HDLink Pro would be a better fit than the standard version. The SDI-HDMI Mini-Converter doesn’t do this colourspace conversion, and simply converts the SDI signal directly into HDMI.

November 11, 2008 at 10:04 am in reply to: XL-H1 using a Multibridge Eclipse

    Hi Micah,

Inputting SDI video and XLR audio into the Multibridge Eclipse is no problem. The settings menu for the Eclipse allows you to select whether you want to use the embedded audio or analog audio, on both SDI and HDMI. This then becomes the audio source that Premiere Pro will use for capture.

November 3, 2008 at 3:42 pm in reply to: setup to hear audio thru headphones

    Hi Lance,

Due to the difference in impedance between line level and headphone level signals, it isn’t possible to monitor audio on headphones directly through your Decklink card. The signal is much, much quieter than that needed for headphones.

You may also find that the headphone output on your soundcard would not be the best option. Typically consumer soundcards do not have a low enough latency for monitoring purposes, and as such will most likely cause the audio to lose sync.

The best solution in this case would be to use the analog audio output from the Decklink card into a headphone amplifier to produce a signal for your headphones.

October 20, 2008 at 3:09 pm in reply to: workgroup hub and downconvert

    Hi Baz,

Unfortunately there is only one type of downscaling available on the Workgroup Videohub. The downconversion feature on the Videohub is more for monitoring purposes than anything else.

Should you be using one of the Decklink cards that allows downconversion on output, such as the Decklink HD Extreme 2, you can set it to downconvert in either letterbox or anamorphic for SD. This can then be sent into the Videohub.

    Hi Rafal,

If you have been capturing from betacam previously with this system, then installing the card should not cause you any problems.

However, we can only guarantee compatibility with the hardware listed on our system requirements page, which you can find here:
