    sd to hd upconversion clarification please ?

    I should know this back and forth, but I don’t. If someone would confirm my information here, I would appreciate it, as I am ignorant.

    The Blackmagic Decklink HD Extreme will only “HD upconvert” from 720p to 1080i, but will NOT upconvert any SD to HD format – is this correct?

    The Blackmagic Multibridge Pro and Multibridge Eclipse will upconvert SD to 1080i, but not 720p. Is this correct ?

    Hi Bob,

    Both the HD Extreme and Multibridge have the same down and upconvert options. So on output, you can upconvert from 720p to 1080i, but not SD to HD. On Input however you can upconvert SD to 1080i, but not 720p.
