I found a workaround, although it isn’t as clean as just re-linking. If you save the new file with the same name as the previous file, then replace the file with the new one, motion will automatically relink to it. If you add layers I’m not sure if it will recognize them or not. But if your just editing already existing layers this method works.

Thank you all for your input. Any suggestions for what I should do with my imac? Sell it, turn it into a part time monitor, any other ways to utilize the processor when it’s in monitor mode for other post functions? The graphics card can’t handle resolve on its own. Maybe I cut on the iMac and finish on the Mbp?

    I found the plug-in.

    https://labs.adobe.com/technologies/redepic_importer/

This is a manual installation. I had to replace 2 files

in the package contents of the application (right click the application and select show package contents). Make sure to copy your old importer and bundle files before you replace anything in case you encounter problems.

Instructions are forCS6 only and Mac platform

    ImporterREdserver

right click on premier pro CS6 select package contents navigate to the folder namedcontents>

Copy original to different location and replace with new version.

Thanks for the input guys it has been very helpful. It’s interesting that the 160 (multiples) are just ev variations, so I guess they are good for compressing noise and the 100 (multiples) are better for compressing clipping.
