Oooohhhhh……Thanks, I found it. So far, I can tell that my render time is going by a lot quicker, so maybe this will work.

    thanks!

*Render as a DV file in Quicktime

How do I render it as a DV file?

The only thing that I know to do is to go to File/Render As…and then go to Save as type:, and select QuickTime6(.mov). I click on the Custom… button, but I couldn’t find anything related to setting it as a DV file.

The source format (my clips on the timeline) is in .avi and then I have some graphics from Digital Juice’s Editor’s Tool Kit.

    Thanks

I’m shooting an outdoor event in a couple of weeks and it’s going to be about 4 hours. Someone subcontracted the work to me and I’m going to get about $400.

They called a TV station that is 2 hours away and they were going to charge $2,000.

I live in a smaller/rural area, so I can’t charge too much for my services, but I normally charge somewhere around $25 an hour with a minimum of 2 hours. That’s just the base price, so it depends on the project. The $400 figure is something that the other guy is working out for me.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the comments. I went to File and Preferences and reassigned the prerendered files. At first it still was working and then after a few minutes of frustration, I turned my camera off and on and that did the trick.

Maybe it was a combination of things, but at least it’s working now. Thanks!

Thanks, I’ll try that, but just in case that doesn’t work…does anybody else have any ides or has this happened to anyone else before?

“you must make the video segment that loops as long as the song. BOTH must be the same length.”

There’s got to be something other than that, because I also have the same problem, and both Audio and Video tracks are the same length. (I render both tracks from Vegas with the same in and out points.)

I got it to loop only one time (my first time on DVDA!!), and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to do it again.

My problem is that after the background plays through all the way, it freezes on the last frame and does not loop.

Sorry I can’t help, but I can’t wait to read the response of someone who can.

Ya know, I tried doing that very same thing, “drag the start and end triangular flags to start and stop where you want.

I did this because my rendered video file was too big to fit on the DVD, so I moved the yellow flags to make it smaller. My thoughts was to change the in and out points and put each section on a different DVD.

It will work, but the further I move the section, the bigger the file becomes.

    I’ll try to explain,

On the left side of the timeline, I move the flags to make it fit in about 4 Gigs. I burned that DVD. Then I moved the flags to the right to highlight another section of the DVD. It worked, but I couldn’t fit as much video in the section. I keep repeating the process and each time the section keeps getting smaller and smaller because I have to make it 4 Gigs.

The video is about 3 hours. I wish it could all fit on one DVD.

I’m now going back into Vegas and rending out the sections that I want so that they will fit on a DVD.

I know this is a lot of information, but if someone has a tip or two, I’d appreciate it.

    Thanks

    “CD/DVD printers are under $100.”

Oh wow! The printers that I’ve looked at were closer to around $1,000. Thanks for the tip. I’ll definately look into it.

    Thanks for everyone’s help!
