Thanks to everybody for all of your help. I’m not sure if it has a specific name, but I’m using a Sony DVD burner that I bought from Office Depot in March. I had been using Memorex DVDs from Office Depot, but I just switched to Sony DVDs.

Like I said before, I can play them on my DVD player, and it seemed like the Sony DVDs have a better picture quality than the Memorex DVDs.

Oh Yeah, I am using stick on labels. I would love to use a DVD printer, but those things are a little out of my budget right now.

Others–feel free to keep posting as it sounds like there’s more people out there that have the same problem.

    Thanks!!

    I think I just learned something new….

So, when you render, it makes a difference if you have your preview monitor on Best or Draft (I think that’s what the not so good one is called)?

I’ve also had this problem in Photoshop. I exported a logo that I designed (for myself) as a jpeg from Photoshop, and when I open it up, it’s blurred.

Just thought I’d throw that in.

You could also right click and GROUP your selection. Then split.

  • What are some questions that you ask?

But when you use the “S” key, be sure to highlight the clip you want to splice. If you don’t, all tracks that the playhead is on will be spliced.

  • Thanks for the help guys. But what I meant was, I have already captured my video in .avi format. I’m asking if I’m going to burn my completed video to a DVD in Architect, what is the best format to use? I’ve been exporting my projects to MPEG2. Is this the best format to use with DVDs?

Something similar has also happened to me in the past. Every now-and-then I will click on a mute button and everything will be muted (it says it is, but it really isn’t), then I unmute it and everything becomes unmuted. I click on the solo button and everthing becomes soloed (again, it says it is soloed, but it really isn’t – everything will play). I end up being able to play around and get it to work right, but I just wanted to let you know that this has happened to me too.
