That’s the first negative comment I think I’ve heard about the XL1.

I use the Cannon GL2 and so far I’m satisfied. I wish it had more than one audio input and they were XLR’s, but I can use a mixer. As far as picture goes, it has a built-in neutral density filter and I am very pleased with the results.

You basically need to just figure out what your needs are and figure out your price range. Will you be able to generate enough money to cover your cost? (I say this because you said “I am possibly looking at trying Event/Wedding Videography.”

I also use two consumer $300 cameras for more angles and views. Even though the picture is not quite as good (because they don’t have 3 CCDs), they’re still better than nothing. And they make me money!

  • I’m also new to Vegas, and I have learned a lot from this forum group.

I also have the full version and I have learned another way to change the speed of your clips. First put your clip (event) on the timeline. Then you can hold down the CTRL key and drag the end of the clip. If you drag it in, it will speed it up. If you drag it out, it will slow it down.

The only problem is that when I do this, I’m not really sure of the percentage that I’m changing.

I’m not very familiar with the velocity envelope, but if it is better, I want to learn more.

Thanks a lot man. I knew there had to been a better and faster way than what I was thinking. This was my first Post and I appreciate your responses. Thanks.

Thanks. I was hoping and trying to just “butt” the two clips together on the same track and drop the dissolve between them, but I guess I need to just put them on two separate tracks. –I knew I could do it this way and drop the transparency on both of them, but I was hoping for a faster way.

    Thanks for your help
