    Don,

    Thanks for your reply.

I think that part of the problem for washy slow motion on some clips is from not having a fast enough shutter speed. I’ve had the camera set to Manual and I had been trying to set the shutter speed as high as I could while adjusting the aperature to still get the proper exposure. Maybe setting the white balance as you suggest will give me better results. I had been trying to leave the gain set to 0 to stay away from adding any noise. Would it be advised to raise the gain in order to achieve a higher shutter speed?

I do have the camera set to ‘normal’ under movie mode

That’s actually where I started but he doesn’t talk about tapering the stroke.

    Thanks

I was using a mask and I didn’t see that option with the write on effect. I’ll look into using that instead. Any benefit to using the write on instead of using a mask? Other than being able to control the stroke properties a little better lol. Just curious.

    Thanks for the response Dave

Oh Man… Thanks… I figured it was something simple, it’s obviously set to “justify left’ by default. thanks again

gotcha, but how do I create the map itself? placing the ball texture on a flat surface to be turned into a sphere.

    Thanks

Thanks for the responses. I used the fill right effect (audio was only coming through the left speaker). When I apply the effect I lose the volume of that clip in both speakers. When I click bypass, I am back to only having volume in the left speaker. Any idea what I’m doing wrong? There doesn’t appear to be anything left to try with this effect.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the replies.

It’s not my choice to have to work with .vob files but the raw files were not available. They were of some high school sports and now a days with DVD burnins software, everyone burns files to a DVD with chapters and thinks that these will actually help a person when it comes time to edit.

If I convert these files to mpeg or use them as .vob files is there any resolution loss from the original DV tape footage?

    Thanks, Chris- Mn
