someone on a post here said you could capture prores, but unless I’m missing something, it cannot be done within premiere.
both my bmd and aja cards are only offering uncompressed options.
hopefully adobe will address this in cs 6.
I should not have to use another separate app to capture tapes.
I know tapeless is the now and future, but some of us still have clients that need it. -
There are many more cards that will work, though not officially on the adobe list.
The GTX470 is listed as one that will for windows.
I think the key would be to make sure there are mac & cuda nvidia drivers

EDIT: looks like nvidia does not provide a mac driver for that card.

if you’re sure thats causing it, copy the text from it and use the “Boris 3D” titler instead.
that one works much better.

I’ve done lots of video compression over the years and my clients like the fact all of their content looks great on youtube.
All of the info looks good on the specifications.
The enterprise bitrates seem excessive though.
I’ve found that 1080 video usually looks just fine with no artifacts if you encode it at 8,000 kbps. Even the most complex, fast moving content. A lot of content can do just fine at 5,000 kbps
anything more than that seems to be excessive in my opinion and experience of encoding nearly thousands of videos in the last ten years.

I use 500GB external hard drives for client back ups. I don’t go any bigger so they span less, have less reliance on just a few drives.
For system backup, every 3-4 months I make a system disk image with carbon copy cloner and store that on a different external drive.

the issue with FTP is that it can surprise you by not completing. That sucks when it’s a huge file.
The hollywood studios use dedicated hardware with super fast fiber connections and UDP transport protocols, but thats beyond the scope here…
Some network dramas are shot here in town and they told me they just make copies of their SD cards or drives (sony/red etc…) and fedex them down to L.A.
not quite there yet for cheap reliable huge file transfers…

works fine on my droid (not sure if you replaced the one that didn’t work)
for handbrake, make sure you do not encode high profile 4, only use 3.1
4 is not supported on most droids.
