Export a single self contained quicktime then process that
through compressor. send to compressor from the timeline greatly extends how long it takes.Also Sounds like you don’t have virtual clustering enabled.
That will make dvd encoding faster than realtime.
do a google search and get that up pronto!Also, make sure the resize quality is set to highest,
but motion compensation set to best (setting that to highest will take forever and not yield much better results) -

Brad, I haven’t had those problems with any discs from my recorder because it does have a TBC in it….probably explains my luck.

I would argue this is one piece of free software free of problems as I’ve used
it almost daily for the last 4 years.If you use the “fix timecode breaks” option first, there will seldom if ever, be a sync issue with mpeg streamclip.

convert that .m4a to a pcm uncompressed 48khz .wav or .aif file.
you might need to convert the aac audio in that other clip too.
if they don’t align at that point you might be in trouble.
make sure the frame rates for all the videos match and are not mixed, that would definitely throw it off.
the sequence setting for audio should also be 16 or 24-bit 48khz.

Whenever I get a client that wants me to convert video for powerpoint on a pc.
I always give them a windows media file.
If it’s SD the size is: 640×480 30fps
If it’s HD the size is: 640×360 30fps
In final cut pro I export with quicktime conversion and do the resizing there (looks better that way) then convert it with compressor. I have the flip4mac .wmv plugin.
never failed me or my clients yet…done lots of them.

ah I thought from your signature you had another Avid DS system.
sometimes when I need a real time down conversion in high quality I will play out from my kona, into my other suite that has black-magic hardware…both are fcp systems.
works really well and wouldn’t have to buy other equipment.

there is a free plugin from adam wilt that can fix that.
it is the hot pixel plugin but I think that would work and its free.
