there’s a little chain link button between where you set
    the numbers.

    click it.

you can then set it for whatever size without affecting the other number

    that shouldn’t be a problem.

changing something mid project is risky, but this is
pretty low risk. even less risky if you clone your system
drive first then install the card (you can always go back if for some unknown reason you have major issues)

just make a new sequence with black-magic as the sequence and copy
your timeline into that new sequence.

I always set my black magic sequence with 10-bit uncompressed preview
then change the codec to ProRes. All your renders will be ProRes.
(if you have final cut studio installed on the same mac machine)

it works. I’ve done it several times.

  • one workaround would be to create a 1080 graphic with boundary
lines of your resolution you need.

then customize your title safe percentages to match.

you can work in premiere, with title safe on ensuring
    everything is within said boundary.

export it and use the cropping feature with media encoder.

I have a caldigit HDPro and HDone as well, they are
both great low cost Raid solutions.

It’s fibre channel connection, so very fast.

    Read: 335 MB/sec

    Write: 437 MB/sec

The Quadro 4000 is highly recommended and definitely worth
    the investment.

You can do some amazing things in real time playback Unrendered
(a perfect HD 1080P key with premiere ultra keyer for example)

When I saw that I was blown away.

Until the mercury engine with CUDA came out, you had to spend
tens of thousands on a Flame/Inferno to get that kind of real time unrendered performance.

[Richard Cooper] “Does anyone get smooth timeline scrolling in CS5.5 on a Mac?”

    I do.

    2009 8-core macpro, 16gb ram, Nvidia quadro 4000, 8TB Raid5.

I can mix Sony F3, Red 4k, you name it….smooth as butter scrolling.

Your storage setup appears to be the weak link.
If you want a non-laggy system, with mixed codecs these days, you have to RAID.

Try raiding…should make a huge difference.

so clicking on the video area of the program window
    brings back the overlay.

sometimes it vanishes, click it again, its back. (the button to enable it is on the whole time.)

    hhhmmmm

  • if your in need of a “workaround” export the audio,
bring into audition and make it stereo, then bring back.

not sure it’s what you really want, but a workaround
    if you do.

    Nice!

hopefully they’ve adapted mercury for premiere to use OpenCL
as an option for that ATI installed user base.
