Maybe I’m missing it, but I use Final Cut Pro and I also have the CS5.5 Production Suite. I decided to use Media Encoder 5.5 to convert my 60D footage to ProRes.

I couldn’t find a ProRes preset, which was surprising since this was the Mac Version. I guess Adobe and Apple really don’t like each other : )

Anyway, I tried to create my own preset. I set up the ProRes 422, size to 1920 x 1080, 23.960 (24p), but it forced me to select the aspect ratio, which non of them match and it won’t let me select “Custom” The closet I was able to get was HD 1080, which created a slight vertical letterbox on each side of the frame.

Any ideas, or settings I need to do would be greatly appreciated.

My original footage was shot on a Canon 60D Mov., 24p

there’s a little chain link button between where you set
    the numbers.

    click it.

you can then set it for whatever size without affecting the other number
