I believe thats the scheme the Star Wars Trilogy and Simpsons Box
set uses. -
Replicators all tell me to burn at 1x for replication masters
if it all possible because the slower you burn, the less
errors will be on the media.Now these errors may or may not cause playback issues but
they certainly do affect DVD-R replication master discs. -
Most PAL televisions made in the last 10 years support
“PAL-60” mode. -
Build NTSC discs, they will work in PAL players
with the “PAL-60” compatability mode built in the player. -
It might. But will likely look worse as you’ll lose important resolution.
if its flickering, then your text could be too small and or thin fontwise.
Serif fonts shouldn’t be used generally. Font sized should be a minimum of 20 pts.
Try enlarging the text or using a different font.
That should be your best option.

Cinemacraft is also excellent.
A little faster too.Procoder is arguably the best one of all.
All of them offer 1-Pass VBR btw.
It’s quite common now and thats how the set top DVD recorders
achieve flexible recording mode, with realtime VBR. -
if you check the black-magic forum you’ll see that its up
to Sony to update Vegas before it can use newer versions
of the driver. -

I would recommend you go the SD-500 route.
There really is nothing wrong with 704×480 mpeg2 streams per se,
but some authoring apps like ReelDVD have issues. If you make
any menu’s on a DVD with 704 encoded content you get a weird
10 pixel shifting to the right of your overlays. I have informed
a technical contact I had at Sonic about it many times and they
have chosen not to fix it.
