others have seen this as well. Encore CS 5.x and below appears to be incompatible with Mavericks unfortunately.

CS 6 Might work, but no word if anyone tried it.

I don’t believe so. the only way chapter import worked before was
a dynamic link to a premiere timeline with chapter markers.

It’s kinda bogus that Encore doesn’t have at least a text file
import option with timecodes for chapters like dvd studio pro.

I’ve been doing it this way for years, keeps me out of trouble for sure.

I never understood the need to upgrade for the sake of it. As it usually causes
unnecessarily problems I don’t need.

There have been posts of various issues once someone installed Mavericks
that was fine just before they did. Do a search here and at adobe forums
to get specifics.

I didn’t even upgrade to Mountain Lion until CC mac required it for pro res.

Safe to assume I won’t be using Mavericks until we get the Dysan Canister macs.

any chance it’s stopping with an exported file thats 4gb?

if so, your export drive is probably formatted as Fat32 with
a 4gb file size limit.

You can do this with pop-up menus, but it will not be animated.

Animated menus only work with BD-J (java) authoring. DoStudio could do that.
Encore is a BDMV mode blu-ray app only.

If they can settle on pop-up non animated menus, you’re good to go.
And like Ricky mentioned it’s somewhat complicated so do a google
search for pop-up menu encore authoring.

I feel your pain on this and echo what Shane and Walter said.

Not sure this would help, but I think I was able to accomplish a proper omf
from a nested (multicam) cs6 sequence once, by doing a “send to audition” from within premiere, then once it
finished conforming in audition, export the omf from there.

might be an option for your cs6 projects from editors.

you can change the grayed out area when you create a new custom sequence.

you might need to create a new custom sequence as the others described
then select all in the sequence and copy / paste to a new one.

If you are on the mac, I’d set the rendering format for Prores

It sounds more like a media issue than anything. I know my panasonic bd player
would not play Phillips BD-r’s until the 3rd firmware update was applied early last year.

TDK BD-R media has been the most reliable, playing on all 3 of my players
with profile 1, a profile 2 and ps3 with no compatibility issues from clients.

It’s not at all bad to suggest they have the latest firmware.
Even now, most hollywood titles have a paper insert in the case
or a beginning screen about making sure your player is up to date
for optimal, error free playback.

Over the years after making lots of blu-rays I’ve found mpeg2 vs H.264, the only
real difference being that H.264 can be a smaller file size. H.264 is more efficient than mpeg2
but does take longer to encode. And encore can some times have issues with it.

I usually go with Dolby AC3 at 448kbps and Mpeg2 at 25 mbps average and 30 mbps maximum.

Never had any compression artifact issues at that setting.
